Bench Leads the Way in Victory Over Eagles
San Dimas, CA - The Warriors entered Saturday's matchup against West Coast Baptist College with an overall record of 6-1 on the season. They took on the Eagles for the 2nd time this season, as thet defeated them on November 13th by a final score of 84-73. This game would not be as close, as LPU came out on fire on the offensive side of the ball, passing the century mark once again, finishing with a 110-76 victory. The story of tonight's game was the impact from the Warrior's bench as the bench finished with 68 points in tonight's victory. Zach Murphy, Albert Matute, and Wes Clarkson all finished the game with double-digit scoring.
When asked to reflect on Saturday's victory, Coach Tim Cook stated, "With finals just getting done and no practices except for yesterday, it was crucial that we got back into it got our legs underneath us and it was a really good performance with 45 rebounds and 25 assists . I knew we were probably gonna turn the ball over a little bit and be careless with the ball because of the week break without practice, but I'm really excited about what the team is doing and what we've gone through with our schedule."
