San Dimas, CA - On Tuesday evening, the Warriors faced off against future GSAC opponent, La Sierra University. The Golden Eagles will be joining the Great Southwest Athletic Conference in 2025-26. The game was a back and forth affair, as the Warriors were able to eventually prevail, winning the game by a final score of 72-63. The Warriors were led offensively by Austin Cook, who finished the game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Rico Hopping finished the game scoring an efficient 16 points on 6-9 shooting from the field. Albert Matute also finished in double-digits, as he finished with 14 points. The Warriors were able to rely on their defense to close the game out as they held La Sierra to 42% shooting on the game.
With the victory, LPU improves to 4-2 on the season and they will be traveling to Malibu tomorrow evening to take on NCAA D1 opponent, Pepperdine University, in an exhibition matchup.
