San Dimas, CA - On Thursday evening, the Warriors faced off against the Spirit from OUAZ on Mehl Court in a GSAC matchup. The first matchup of the season that took place in Surprise was a matchup that went down to the wire, with LPU ultimately prevailing by a final score of 63-60. Tonight's matchup would be more of a defensive game, as the Warriors outlasted OUAZ, defeating them by a final score of 56-45. With the win, LPU improves to 11-11 on the season and 2-8 in the GSAC. The Warriors were led by standout freshman, Kyori Lloyd, who finished the game with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Julianna Sanchez finished the game with 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Faith Schwantner finished with 11 points and 6 assists. Mikayla Murphy was dominant on the glass, finishing with 12 rebounds for the game. LPU will return back to Mehl Court on Saturday afternoon to host a GSAC matchup against the Firestorm from Arizona Christian.
