Warriors Secure 62–53 Win Over Nelson University SAGU

San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific Women's Basketball improved to 6–2 on the season with a strong 62–53 home victory over Nelson University–Arizona, powered by lockdown defense, dominant free-throw shooting, and key fourth-quarter execution.


 

Balanced Scoring Leads the Way

The Warriors saw contributions across the lineup, with three players scoring in double figures.

  • Adrianna Torres led LPU with 15 points, going a perfect 8–8 from the free-throw line, while adding 3 assists.

  • Ebony Cooper delivered a clutch performance, scoring 11 points, including a late three that helped put the game out of reach.

  • Kiana Salcedo was efficient and poised, totaling 12 points on 6–6 from the stripe.

  • Sophia Abella anchored the paint with 9 points and a game-high 11 rebounds

 

Free Throws & Defense Change the Game

Life Pacific was nearly automatic at the line, shooting an elite 23–24 (95.8%), while Nelson went just 8–15.

Defensively, the Warriors forced 19 turnovers, converting them into 21 points—a key separator throughout the contest.

LPU's pressure defense also tallied 11 steals, with Brooklyn Waldram, Salcedo, and Cooper each contributing to the defensive effort.
