Warriors Rally From 15 Down to Secure First GSAC Win Over La Sierra

San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific women's basketball showed grit, composure, and fourth-quarter toughness on Wednesday night, storming back from a 15-point second-half deficit to defeat La Sierra, 44–42, in their GSAC opener. With the win, the Warriors move to 8–2 overall and 1–0 in conference play, marking one of the strongest starts in program history.

The game looked bleak early, with LPU scoring just 14 points in the first half and trailing 25–14 at the break. But the Warriors flipped the script in the third quarter, exploding for 17 points behind defensive pressure, timely shooting, and renewed energy. LPU held La Sierra to just 13 in the period, cutting the deficit to two heading into the fourth.

From there, it was all resilience.  Adrianna Torres led the comeback effort, finishing with 16 points, including four made threes, and delivering the go-ahead triple with 2:09 left to put LPU up 43–42. Her ability to create shots and stay aggressive was the offensive spark the Warriors desperately needed.  Ysabel Puente was a force on the glass and at the line, posting 7 points, 7 rebounds, and clutch free throws that kept LPU within striking distance.  Kailey New added 9 points, including a crucial fourth-quarter bucket and a momentum-shifting three early in the final period.  Ebony Cooper anchored the defensive end, grabbing 5 rebounds and converting two key free throws in crunch time.

The Warriors' defense was the story of the night, holding La Sierra to just 4 points in the fourth quarter and forcing 20 turnovers. LPU's pressure down the stretch smothered the Golden Eagles, allowing just one made field goal in the final eight minutes.  With the victory, Life Pacific earns its first GSAC win of the season, and in dramatic comeback fashion.
