- Head Coach
Bio
With the transition in our Women's Basketball program, Life Pacific is excited to welcome Kyler Kennedy as the next Head Women's Basketball Coach, bringing 10 years of coaching experience to the LPU program. Kyler and his wife, Claire, join the Warrior Community, after spending the last couple of years in San Diego. Kyler has deep ties within the conference, with his grandfather, Bill Reynolds, being the coach of Vanguard University for 20 years. The GSAC is also very familiar with Claire as well, with her being a GSAC and National Player of the Year, back in 2017, when she led Vanguard University to the National Championships.
When asked about the hire of Coach Kyler, Interim Athletic Director Davis Nuaimi, stated, "We are so excited for Coach Kyler to be joining the LPU staff. He brings an energy and passion that is infectious to all of those around him. With the GSAC being such a competitive conference, it is an advantage for Kyler and Claire knowing what it takes to win at the highest level. Kyler and Claire have already cemented themselves within the LPU community, and we can't wait to see what God will continue to do in the Women's Basketball program. Coach Bry did such an amazing job this year with building a culture of perseverance and grit within the program, and we are excited to see how Kyler will build off of that."

Hobbies:

What is your reason for coaching:
- The reason that I coach is in order to build relationships, so that I am able to share the good news of the Gospel. My hopes are that I can make an impact for His Kingdom through the game of basketball.
How did you get into coaching and share a little bit about your testimony and how or if it connects to coaching::
- Basketball is an incredible gift, but a terrible idol. I learned that the hard way, as a senior in high school as my playing career was derailed by two major ankle surgeries. Per usual, God revealed himself to me during this broken time of my life. My identity as a basketball player was replaced by the Father's great love for me. This is when I began my journey following Jesus. Due to injury, this is also when I began my coaching career, helping at my old high school. As a coach, I have the responsibility of serving the team in a way that is honoring the Christ. It is a calling that I am blessed to walk in.
Quote on being hired at Life Pacific:
- I am truly humbled to serve the amazing student-athletes here at LPU. We will love Jesus, we will believe in ourselves, and we will never quit.
