Freshman Standout Alexa Monge Named GSAC Defender of the Week

San Dimas, Calif. Life Pacific University freshman defender, Alexa Monge, has been named the GSAC Defender of the Week after a dominant two-match stretch in which she anchored the Warriors' back line to back-to-back shutout victories over (RV) The Master's University and OUAZ.

Monge played a pivotal role in the Warriors' 1–0 win against The Master's, where she helped hold the GSAC's leading scorer, Maddy Traylor, to just one shot on goal. Her defensive composure and positioning were key in limiting one of the most dangerous attacks in the conference, which ultimately led to LPU pulling off their biggest win in program history.

She followed that up with another standout performance on the road against OUAZ, leading a defensive unit that once again posted a shutout—while also making her mark on the scoresheet. Monge converted a penalty kick for the game-winning goal in Life Pacific's 2–0 victory, securing a perfect defensive and offensive weekend for the freshman.

Across the two matches, Monge started and played full minutes in both, totaling two starts, one goal, and two shutouts while maintaining a 1.000 shot and shot-on-goal percentage.

Her impact has been immediate for the Warriors' back line, demonstrating poise and establishing herself as one of the conference's most promising young defenders.
