Caddow and Guzman Named to GSAC All-Conference Team; Caddow Named Player of the Year

San Dimas, CA – Two Warriors, Hannah Caddow and Audrianna Guzman, were named to the 2022 GSAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team.  Caddow was also named as the GSAC Player of the Year, cementing herself in LPU history as the first student-athlete to earn a Player of the Year honor in the GSAC/NAIA.  With this honor, it marks Caddow's third straight year receiving All-Conference honors and Guzman's first time.  The receival of these awards comes on the week that the Warriors will travel East to Surprise, AZ to compete in the GSAC Tournament, marking another "first" in program history.  The Warriors finished the season with an overall record of 15-7 and 11-7 in the GSAC, placing them as the #4 seed in the tournament.  There is a direct correlation to the historic season that LPU had and the performances that Caddow and Guzman put together on a nightly basis.

When asked to reflect on the honors that Caddow and Guzman received, Coach Wes stated, "This team has faced so much adversity in the past year, and through all of it, Hannah and Dri have done an amazing job of keeping this team together.  From having vehicles broken into on the road, to coaching changes, to injuries, these two have been there to lead on and off the court.  Hannah has such a servant-leaders mindset and a drive to suceed that makes her one of those rare athletes that can rise to the occasion in the midst of adversity.  She has given so much of herself to this team and the work shows.  She will go down as one of the greatest players that has played in the GSAC and is so deserving of this recognition.  I cannot think of a better person to lead our group and am so thankful that she is at LPU.  Dri is one of the most driven players that I have coached, and she has worked so hard to develop her game.  It has shown with her ability to be so consistent and dominant this season.  From day one, Dri accepted the challenge and task at hand, and has grown into one of the most versatile players in the GSAC, only in her sophomore year.  The sky is the limit for her and I cannot wait to see what she accomplishes next.  I really have been so blessed this season to work with both of these girls and cannot wait to see what they can accomplish this weekend and next year as well."

#13 HANNAH CADDOW

Hannah has been instrumental in the rise of the Life Pacific Volleyball program to GSAC recognition.  That impact has been noted as she received All-Conference honors for the 3rd time in her career, along with receiving the Player of the Year award.  Hannah receives this award following a regular season where she led the GSAC in kills/set, with an average of 3.50 kills/set.  She was 5th in kills (273), despite playing nearly 10 less matches than the rest of the GSAC.  She posted a top 10 hitting percentage as well at .193 hitting percentage.  Along with her lethal attack, Hannah is also widely known as one of the best defenders in the GSAC.  In 13 different matches, she posted a double-double (kills/digs) where she controlled the match on both sides of the ball.  Hannah finished 12th in the GSAC in digs/set, as she averaged 3.42 digs per set.  On October 8th, she posted her season mark of digs, finishing the match against William Jessup with 22 digs.

This season, she became the All-Time leader in kills in Life Pacific history, as she currently has 1,169 kills and counting.  She is also in the top 4 in digs in LPU history, with 1,241 digs.  Another record that Hannah holds is the most aces in a match, which she recorded back in the 2019 season when she recorded 8 service aces on one set.

Caddow is currently serving as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for Life Pacific University for the second straight year, as she continues to solidify herself as a leader within the team and campus as a whole.  Hannah also earned the Cliff Hamlow Champions of Character Award last year, which recognizes the 2 student-athletes from each institution that demonstrate outstanding athletic achievement, campus and community leadership, future ambition, and embraces the five core character values of the NAIA Champions of Character program (Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership).

#16 AUDRIANNA GUZMAN

This season, Audrianna established herself as one of the more versatile players in the GSAC.  First and foremost, Guzman has one of the most lethal swings in the entire conference, with nearly every swing seeming to find an opening in the defense.  She was 5th in the GSAC in hitting percentage, posting an impressive .259 hitting percentage on the season.  She posted top 20 in both kills and kills/set, along with being top 35 in all categories of blocks on the defensive end.  On four occasions this season, Guzman posted double-digit kills while hitting .400 hitting percentage or better, headlined when she recorded 10 kills while hitting .588 last weekend against SDCC.  In arguably the biggest win in LPU history, Audrianna recorded a season-high 5 blocks in the road win against Westmont back on October 1st.  Her season-high in kills came on September 16th at William Jessup, when she posted her career high of 15 kills on 31 swings.  Later in the season, in their win at OUAZ, Guzman posted her season-high in digs as she finished with 8 key digs in the match to help LPU to their win.

With her earning this award in only her 2nd collegiate season, the sky really is the limit for what Guzman will be able to achieve.  Her game is so versatile that it would not come as a surprise if next season she was posting Attacker and Defender of the Week performances.
