San Dimas, Calif. — The Life Pacific Women's Volleyball team made a major statement on Thursday night, sweeping No. 11 The Master's University (25–22, 25–18, 25–19) at Mehl Court. The victory marked one of the biggest wins in program history and extended the Warriors' GSAC record to 6–2, improving to 11–5 overall.
Led by Jocelyn Hernandez, who continued her dominant form, the Warriors played with poise and precision against one of the top-ranked teams in the nation. Hernandez finished with 11 kills on .429 hitting and a team-high 3 blocks, showcasing her offensive efficiency and defensive presence.
Kendal Collins provided balance and consistency with 7 kills, 16 digs, and 3 aces, finishing with 11 total points. Her strong serving run in the second set helped LPU swing momentum and seize control of the match.
Kate Smith added 5 kills, 13 digs, and 2 aces, while Marlayina Masani directed the offense masterfully with 14 assists, 5 digs, 2 aces, and 3 total blocks. The setting duo of Masani and Jadyn Armstrong (8 assists, 5 digs) kept The Master's defense guessing all night, distributing the attack evenly across multiple hitters.
In the middle, Isabel Johnson provided key stops at the net with 2 solo blocks and 4 kills, and Tionn Wise added 2 kills and 2 blocks while hitting .200. Defensively, Kelsey Gomarko anchored the back row with 3 assists and 3 digs, helping the Warriors tally 45 total digs and 10 team blocks against one of the most potent offenses in the GSAC.
The Warriors hit .183 as a team and held the Mustangs to .111 across all three sets — a testament to their discipline and blocking presence.
With the victory, Life Pacific (11–5, 6–2 GSAC) secures its third-ever win over a nationally ranked top-25 opponent and continues to climb the GSAC standings (3rd) heading into the second half of conference play.
