Men's Soccer Secures First GSAC Draw of Season At Jessup

Rocklin, CA On Thursday afternoon, the Warrior's Men's Soccer program traveled to Rocklin, CA, to take on Jessup University, who was ranked 4th in the GSAC.  Jessup entered the match with an overall record of 7-4-2 and were 2-1 in the GSAC.  The match ended up in a tie, marking the first time this season that LPU has earned a tie in GSAC play.  LPU will continue to build off of this momentum as they take on Menlo College on Saturday afternoon.

The match was back and forth in the first half, but neither team was able to capitalize on a goal, thanks to stellar play by the defense and goalies.  The Warriors of Life Pacific were the first to strike in the match, with Ramiro Piza scoring on a goal in the 52nd minute, thanks to a fantastic ball from Jose Perez.  LPU carried the lead for the remainder of the match, but in the 80th minute, Jessup scored their first goal on a goal from Isaac Morfin.  Neither team was able to separate in the remaining 10 minutes, resulting in the Warrior's first GSAC draw of the season.  This earns LPU their first point in the GSAC standings, thanks to the tie in today's match.  Ezequiel Jimenez was crucial in the net for LPU, coming away with 4 saves, while deterring multiple other scoring attempts from Jessup.
