Warriors Outlast Tigers to Close Out Non-Conference Play
San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific volleyball earned a gritty home win on Saturday, defeating Occidental College in four sets (25–23, 19–25, 27–25, 25–20) at Mehl Court. The victory improved the Warriors to 6–5 overall, 1–2 in GSAC play, and was fueled by standout efforts on both sides of the ball.
Jocelyn Hernandez was the offensive anchor, delivering a match-high 15 kills on .364 hitting, while also contributing 3 block assists and 18 points overall. She came up with clutch swings in critical stretches, especially in the tight third set that went into extra points.
Kate Smith turned in a complete performance, posting 13 kills, 18 digs, and 4 aces for 17 total points. Her late serving run in the fourth set pushed the Warriors over the finish line, closing the match with three consecutive aces.
At setter, Jadyn Armstrong ran the attack with precision, dishing out 23 assists, adding 10 digs, and even chipping in a kill and a service ace. Her leadership and distribution kept Life Pacific balanced offensively throughout the night.
The Warriors' defensive effort was also pivotal. Kelsey Gomarko led with 12 digs, while Smith and Armstrong each reached double digits as part of the team's 70 total digs. At the net, Tionn Wise registered 4 solo blocks, and Hernandez added 3 block assists, helping to slow down Occidental's attack.
Life Pacific finished the match with 51 kills, 70 digs, 9 aces, and 12 total blocks, showcasing depth and resilience after dropping the second set.
