Warriors Rally Past Hope International in Five Set Thriller

San Dimas, Calif. — The Life Pacific women's volleyball team showed grit, depth, and determination on Saturday night, rallying from being down 2-1 to defeat Hope International in a thrilling 3–2 victory (22–25, 21–25, 25–14, 26–24, 15–12) at Mehl Court. The comeback marked the Warriors' fifth straight GSAC win, improving their record to 10–5 overall and 5–2 in conference play.

After a slow start, the Warriors flipped the momentum in the fourth set, erasing a large deficit thanks to a crucial spark off the bench from Hailey Duncan. Duncan delivered two service aces, five assists, and a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage, injecting energy into the lineup and helping Life Pacific complete the comeback.

Kendal Collins was again a steady force on the outside, finishing with 12 kills and 17 digs, while Kate Smith posted another all-around performance with 13 kills, 15 digs, and 2 aces. Both hitters came up clutch in the decisive fifth set, combining for several of the final points that sealed the match.

Marlayina Masani had a tremendous two-way night, finishing with 5 kills, 17 assists, 16 digs, and 3 solo blocks — a true all-around performance that fueled the comeback. Fellow setter Jadyn Armstrong was sharp as well, adding 21 assists, 9 digs, and an ace while hitting 1.000 (3-for-3) offensively.

Jocelyn Hernandez continued her hot streak as one of the GSAC's most consistent attackers, recording 13 kills and 2 blocks while hitting .211. Isabel Johnson anchored the middle with 4 kills and 2 solo blocks, while Tionn Wise and Makala Detrick added valuable depth at the net.

Defensively, Kelsey Gomarko anchored the back row with a team-high 23 digs and 4 assists, leading an LPU defense that totaled 100 digs and 7 team blocks.

The win marks Life Pacific's fifth straight GSAC victory and keeps the Warriors climbing the conference standings as one of the league's hottest teams.  The Warriors (10–5, 5–2 GSAC) will return to action next week against two of the top 3 teams in the conference, The Master's University and Arizona Christian.
